Há um tema em “The Prettiest Tansmitter of All”, E.P. de Dare Dukes, nascido em San José, Califórnia, residente em Savannah (Geórgia, E.U.A.), que diz “things will be different this time”. De facto esta frase de “Sam’s Cathedral” é uma boa frase para classificar o que se sentirá de cada vez que se ouvir “The Prettiest Transmitter of All”. A cada audição novas sensações de canções que primeiro estranha-se pelo timbre da voz de Dare Dukes, depois pelos arranjos e por fim pelas melodias. Isto é pop feita com muita inteligência, mas sobretudo com muito gosto.
Ultimamente os nossos ouvidos não estão habituados a ouvir material tão bom quanto as sete faixas que compõem este E.P.
Dare Dukes afirma que prefere a vida real, à dos Estados Unidos da América, que está cheia de doidos, insanos e os lúcidos que fazem coisas tão belas quanto “The Prettiest Transmitter of All”. Talvez Dare Dukes seja mais um daqueles casos de humanos que sentem e agem como humanos.

In fact “Sam’s Cathedral” has the key words for what one can feel each listening to “The Prettiest Transmitter of All”. Each audition brings new sensations of songs that first we think they are strange because of Dare’s voice, arrangements and then because of the melodies. This is pop music composed and performed with inteligence, but above all, with taste.
We aren’t used to listen to such good work as the seven tracks of the E.P.
Dare Dukes says “the reality [of America] is a lot more interesting to me (…). The way I see it, it’s a place filled with eccentric characters (…), some nuts, some saner, than the rest of us”. The rest of us can create something so beautiful as “The Prettiest Transmitter of All”. Well, maybe Dare Dukes is another case of a human that feels and acts like human should do.
